ABOUT WILLOW
Therapy at Willow Counseling is so much more than "fixing yourself" or "becoming a better version of you."
Counseling with us is a place where you can be fully heard, push through the fear of opening up (perhaps for the first time) and experience being met with unconditional acceptance. It’s a time to disconnect from the stress of your busy life and allow yourself the space to reflect, to understand what you’re truly feeling, and to speak honestly.
We work together to alleviate symptoms and help you make healthier life decisions, to learn better coping skills, to relieve burdens, to remove the pain of trauma and lessen crippling fears. However, our greatest desire is for you to know what it means to feel purpose and joy again and to recognize the strength and worth that you have to offer to the world.
Counseling in the Heart of Nashville
Willow Counseling is located near the intersection of 21st Avenue South and I-440, between Green Hills and Hillsboro Village. Our team of therapists is less than a 15 minute drive from Brentwood, Woodbine, and Oak Hill and even closer to Vandy, Belmont, Sylvan Park, and Berry Hill.
We love living and working in Nashville. It’s not just Nashville’s coffee or music, or even all the parks and green spaces. We love how Nashville cares about its neighbors, and we especially love that we get to be a part of that Nashville community by providing mental and emotional support to you, our friends and neighbors.
MISSION
Willow Counseling, PLLC exists to provide quality trauma-informed mental health counseling to the Nashville community, recognizing the interconnectedness of our emotional, spiritual and physical selves.
What does it mean to be trauma-informed?
At Willow Counseling, we understand that trauma is pervasive and has been an unfortunate part of many of our lives. As a result, trauma-informed care seeks to create environments that promote safety and stability rather than risk revictimization. We incorporate the following principles in creating a trauma-informed environment: safety, choice, collaboration, trustworthiness and empowerment. In addition, all of our staff have been trained in trauma-informed principles and multiple types of trauma therapy.
VALUES
You deserve QUALITY care, work that is evidence-based, backed by research, and up-to-date.
We recognize that you are made up of intimately connected parts and therefore a HOLISTIC and inclusive approach is most effective. An approach that includes mind, body, spirit and recognizes the impact of your social, physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual selves.
One size does not fit all. CREATIVITY is required to adapt research-backed strategies to the unique individual.
We provide serious work for serious issues but humor and the power of LAUGHTER are not to be underestimated.
We are INCLUSIVE. We will help any race, any religion, any sexual orientation, any gender.
We don't view you as fragile and helpless but rather as someone with inner STRENGTH, who has the power within to heal and face life head on.
